Style with Riva | Feeling Peachy

This is probably the most productive week I have this summer. Back to back shoots, it's definitely peachy.

My color palette pretty much consists of neutral colors. I normally wear a lot of white, grey, brown and black. Blue or denim is pretty much my only primary color. I mentioned earlier that a pop of color like red is usually my go to. But lately, I've been feeling more adventurous and adding peach, salmon, or blush (i refuse to call it pink haha) in my wardrobe. Just you know, pink is my least favorite color. I do love pink peonies, roses and daisies. I just least prefer that color. But lately it's growing on me. Finding the right shade to suit my skin color is key.

you need to

try this

One Sunday, Kev and I were driving in the Sunset as per usual, we went to Home Cafe in Noriega to plan for our Euro trip. I freakin' love their condensed milk toast. You guys have to try it. It reminds me so much of my childhood.

If you've been to Sunset or Richmond District, you'd see a lot of pastel colored houses. Thought of using one as a backdrop for this timely outfit. I got this peach top on sale from Madewell for 29 bucks in Portland. I couldn't resist the no sales tax, I just couldn't. I love the tied sleeves too, I think it's pretty cute. What do you think?

I paired this with my Levi's skinnies and brown suede block sandals from Zara. These are probably the only sandals I could wear for a day. To make things peachier, I wore these huge earrings (also just for being extra (Is that how people use that word these days?)) and my Rayban sunglasses. They're prescription too! These are totally a splurge but thank God for medical reimbursement! You've already seen my tote from Madewell which is my everyday bag as well as that red scarf.

Do you guys like to explore and be adventurous with your wardrobe options? I definitely recommend to have more of the stuff that truly works but here's to trying out a new thing! Maybe next time, you'll see me in yellow. Not. :P Is there something that you guys have been wanting to try on yourself? Here's some other peachy stuff that are currently on sale right now.

Loretta stripe, Portside Skirt, Double Zip Bomber Jacket, Blouson Dress and Crewneck Sweater (you know SF)

*These are links are completely unaffiliated to these brands nor I am paid to promote them. I just like recommending and giving out suggestions.

Style with Riva | Four-Dollar Shirt

Hey, thanks for coming back! Welcome!

In case you don't know, I also work full-time at a tech company in Downtown SF. I still do freelance photography alongside. I just have to manage my schedule well. So please inquire if interested! Living in the Bay Area definitely comes with a hefty price, friends. It's no joke.

My workplace is pretty much casual, you can rock whatever style you want as long as it's appropriate of course. Since becoming full-time, I found myself wearing more athleisure and laid-back clothes, constantly hunting for super comfortable shoes (got me some Ultra Boosts aka pillow shoes! In the search for sandals, pls send recs!), and even buying and always looking for good deals on clothes online. I describe my style as comfort, minimal, neutral and casual. I like stocking up on the basics: lots of tees, good quality denim and shoes. Five days of the week, I'm basically Basic and pretty much on Sundays I get to play dress up. If you work at a place where you're on your feet all day long, then I can totally relate with you. So if you're like me whose closet is a capsule wardrobe, high five girl! I am finally going to utilize this blog as my platform to share how to look put together with your basics, maybe suggest some current good deals, and if this still is not your cup of tea, maybe you can still enjoy photos of San Francisco.

I told you I'm going to be blogging. :)

I bought this shirt at H&M for 4 bucks. No kidding. I don't really own a lot of slogan shirts but when I saw this for 4 bucks I just couldn't pass it up. That's literally a grande latte. So win! And it was just so fitting to wear this cuz I was also on a 7 day work streak. I wore this last Monday, you know Motivational Monday, and it was my 5 of 7. So go Riva!

I paired this with my Madewell overhauls which I got on sale for really cheap and my Stan Smiths which are my footwear of choice most of the week. White goes well with anything. My feet have a high arch and with these guys on for 5 hrs is good. But for the whole day, inserts or cushion pads for my heel for extra support are definitely needed.

Since this is a simple outfit, I put on my red scarf from F21. I'm loving red as an accessory! Especially with the lips and nails. Definitely my go to for a pop of color.

My friend, Felicia (she also took some of these photos!) and I stumbled across this super cute alleyway in FiDi after we had coffee. It's on Belden St. Isn't it so cute?!

I couldn't find this shirt anymore even online but here's some slogan shirts that are inexpensive that you can rock when you need some motivation.

My New Ring | Tigergems Review

Hello! I know it's been a while since my last personal blog. Here I am starting over again. I'd rather move forward than focus on my excuses. But I'm trying to get back to blogging so hopefully I'm consistent.

Our Story

Kevin and I got married young. I was 23 and he was 20. He proposed to me with a simple ring that holds one of the most significant moments of my life. It symbolizes our love, our story and the start of our life together. We didn't have much, but we knew what was most important to us was US.

As time went by, the ring started to feel loose. It easily glided off my ring finger. It also didn't help that my previous work was very physical so I decided to keep it in my jewelry box instead. I guess out of habit, I wouldn't wear it as much. I still wear my wedding band all the time. I do want to get it resized and have it and my wedding band molded together. It's always been a want for me to have a good alternative ring. It's just unrealistic for us to get something so expensive. I remember watching Mila Kunis's interview when she was talking about their wedding rings from Etsy on CONAN. I really admired her when I learned that, so I was intrigued and started checking rings on Etsy. So yes, Mila Kunis inspired me to shop there. Ha!

How it came about

There are so many great jewelry stores on Etsy, but Tigergems really stood out to me. Their designs look so beautifully and elegantly done. Tigergems is a jewelry store where each piece is handcrafted with a perfect conflict-free alternative to a mined diamond. Their pieces are affordable too. I messaged the store through Instagram and asked if they have an actual store here in SF so I can come in and see the rings myself. I spoke to Tabitha, one of the most accommodating store owners I have ever encountered that said they unfortunately do not. Maybe since it was through a direct message on Instagram, she saw my works and was kind enough to propose a collaboration. I flipped out. Here I am expecting just a simple answer and she ended up wanting a collaboration. How awesome is that?

(Disclaimer: I was already set on thinking that I'm shopping for my ring. All my opinions and thoughts are purely honest, hence giving you the background story.)

My Thoughts

I chose this beautiful ring to match with my wedding band. When I received the package, I was anxious. I honestly didn't want to be disappointed but  was kind of expecting it. When I opened it from the small suede bag, I was really impressed.

This Blake Lively inspired-ring is absolutely gorgeous. It sparkles like a diamond. Knowing that this ring is affordable too is so good. I know to each their own, but I can't afford to use our savings for a piece of jewelry.  To get something like this beautiful without hurting your bank is definitely worth it. I've been getting so many compliments from people and even congratulating me (been married for almost 7 yrs now lol).

Would I recommend it? Heck yes. Shopping at Tigergems is so easy. Tabitha will take care of you. The first ring that I received was actually big, and she had me shipped it back and she replaced it with my size. I didn't want to inconvenience her since it's already a collaboration and I'm technically the one who reached out but she insisted.

How's the quality? It's really well done. It wouldn't sparkle if the cuts were done bad. The band is also a sterling silver engagement ring. Now, when it comes to everyday wear, I'd definitely take this off when I wash my hands, put on lotion or any skin product. Maybe I'll do a review after a year? We'll see! I also bring the small ultra-suede pouch that comes with it to wipe the gem once in a while.

Is it worth it? Absolutely! With free return and exchange, your satisfaction is important. This is a good present for yourself, your mom, pretty much to all the ladies out there.

Overall

It's a beautiful ring on its own. Wether you're getting it as your engagement ring, alternative, go for it. What really matters is that you love it. I love mine so much that I want other people to know that you can have a ring like this. As a matter of fact, I have 15% to offer you if you use Rivaramos to any of her products. Please enjoy it! I don't get any commission or anything if you use it.
